On the work

Working across painting, drawing, beadwork, and traditional craft, Robin has spent more than two decades developing her artistic practice. Her creations range from contemporary Indigenous illustrations and paintings to hand-beaded medallions, earrings, drums, and cultural works that honour Mi'kmaw teachings and traditions.

Her artwork often explores themes of resilience, ancestry, spirituality, nature, and Indigenous identity. Robin designed artwork featured on shirts distributed across Canada for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and has contributed artwork and murals within schools and community spaces in New Brunswick. Beyond creating, she is known as a cultural mentor who shares teachings and strengthens connections to Mi'kmaw culture.

The World

The World

She sits quietly, wrapped in strength, reflection, and responsibility. Beneath her rests the world itself, not as a burden, but as a reminder of connection. Every choice, every story, every generation leaves an imprint on the earth we share.

The smoke rising from the bowl carries more than ceremony. It carries memory, prayer, resilience, and hope - speaking to the importance of slowing down long enough to listen, to ourselves, to each other, and to the land.

Her red shawl represents protection, identity, and the enduring power of culture. The feathers flowing through her hair symbolize guidance and spirit, while her calm posture reflects balance in a world that often moves too fast.

Robin's Girl

Robin's Girl

"Robin's Girl" is a reflection of strength, identity, and connection to the natural and spiritual world. The figure is shown from behind, inviting the viewer to see themselves within the story rather than focusing on a single individual. Her long braid symbolizes heritage, resilience, and the passing of knowledge through generations.

The crossed feathers represent protection, balance, and guidance, while the surrounding moons and celestial elements speak to cycles of growth, healing, femininity, and intuition. The forest and water in the background ground the piece in nature - reminding us that we are deeply connected to the land, to spirit, and to one another.

This piece is about quiet power. It honours those who carry culture, memory, and resilience forward, even when their journey is unseen.
